About this role

Overview

Works collaboratively with dedicated and caring hospitalist physician group to provide evaluation and treatment of patients in an established hospitalist program.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Duties include, but are not limited to: patient admissions, completing progress notes, patient education, prescribing medications, order diagnostic tests, and recommending therapeutic interventions. Additional duties as assigned. Performs physical examinations and preventive health measures within prescribed guidelines and instructions of Physician. Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify and assess patient's clinical problems and health care needs. Records physical findings, and formulates plan and prognosis, based on patient's condition. Discusses case with Physician and other health professionals to prepare comprehensive patient care plan. Submits health care plan and goals of individual patients for periodic review and evaluation by Physician. Prescribes or recommends drugs or other forms of treatment such as physical therapy, inhalation therapy, or related therapeutic procedures. Refers patients to Physician for consultation or to specialized health resources for treatment.

Education and Experience

Current WI RN and Nurse Practitioner Licensure

Certification and Licensure

Graduate of an accredited nursing program.Possession of a current applicable Wisconsin RN license Meets the requirements determined by the State of WI to perform duties defined as those of a Nurse PractitionerPALS and CPR required

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
