Join our collaborative, patient-centered infusion team providing high-quality oncology and specialty infusion care in an outpatient setting. Daytime hours only Monday through Friday — no nights, weekends, or holidays!
Work closely with oncologists, advanced practitioners, and infusion nurses to optimize cancer therapy and supportive care.


Responsibilities

  • Works to maintain a professional, organized, systematic workflow for the Oncology Pharmacy.
  • Provides ongoing support and education to the staff rotating in the area so the trainee is prepared to work safely, effectively, and deliver consistent performance in all areas.
  • Demonstrates a working knowledge of chemotherapy products, their chemical and physical properties, and how to store medications based upon manufacturer guidelines.
  • Monitors and maintains drug inventory for Oncology Clinics (Lutherville and Overlea) as dictated by Chemotherapy Treatment and Therapy Plans.
  • In accordance with Clinical Oncology Practice guidelines provide drug information and education to Providers, Nursing staff, patients and their family members as needed.
  • Demonstrates a specialized knowledge, understanding and application of the requirements expressed in USP Chapters 797 and 800. This includes calculations, preparation and labelling.
  • Ensures accuracy of medication prepared for dispensing.
  • Assesses the appropriateness of medication orders and enters the orders into a computerized patient medication profile prior to dispensing medications. Intervenes when clarifications are needed from the prescriber, interacting in a professional manner at all times with other health care staff.
  • Prepare and coordinate delivery of chemotherapy agents.

Requirements

  • Must possess a BS or Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited school of Pharmacy. .
  • Previous hospital pharmacy experience for a minimum of one year preferred, but not required
  • Must be licensed as a registered Pharmacist in Maryland and maintain all necessary continuing education credits and requirements.
