PICU is a 28-bed high acuity step-down unit featuring 6 private and 11 semi-private rooms. We care for a wide array of patients; renal, surgical and trauma, with a strong focus on those with pulmonary issues as we are the only unit outside of the ICU’s that care for patients with trachs and ventilators. Due to this higher acuity we strive to have a 1:4 nurse to patient ratio. PICU staff have been nominated for many Daisy Awards as well as yearly recipients of the “Nightingale Award”. Our team is made up of a wide variety of nurses from new grads to the most senior with 38 years of experience. Clinical instructors from the area colleges love to be assigned to PIC for their clinicals due to the amazing experience students get. We have 28 specialty “Hercules” beds that reposition patients with the touch of a button and saves our backs! Please come for a tour, we would love to have you join our team!!
