Job Description:

The Retail Associate's primary goal is to assist visitors and customers of Meow Wolf's gift shop while providing an excellent level of customer service. This job entails completing transactions via a point of sale system, handling cash and providing correct change from a cash register to guests as they make purchases. Meow Wolf's Retail Associate helps keep the gift shop clean, restocking items and organizing storage areas as needed. In this role, one may be asked to further support the Gift Shop department by completing special tasks that include data entry, compiling gift shop items for giveaways, and conducting inventory counts. It is crucial that the Retail Associate maintains an in-depth knowledge of the variety of merchandise items being sold at the Gift Shop. 

Job Requirements:

• A desire to work directly with and talk to the public.

• A welcoming demeanor.

• 19 years of age or older.

• Ability to learn point of sale systems.

• Ability to remember and communicate information.

• Ability to follow and enforce safety rules.

• A flexible schedule; ability to work days, evenings, and weekends.

Preferred Qualifications:

• An interest in the arts.

• Prior experience with point of sale systems (retail sales).

• Prior work experience in a retail, museum, park, recreation facility, or other public

• space.

• Experience using Google drive documents and spreadsheets

• Ability to learn and use a variety of computer software including but not limited to;

• Vend POS, Dymo Label software

• Education / Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent

• At least one year of retail or customer service experience

Work Environment:

This position works primarily in an indoor setting with exposure to noisy environments, dim lighting, strong visual effects including strobing lights, special effects, fog machines and small and/or enclosed spaces.

Physical Demands

• Moving in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces

• Remaining in a stationary position for prolonged periods

• Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers

• Positioning or moving objects up to 40 pounds

Work Schedule:

• This position has an effective start date on or after 2/9/2026, with the position ending no later than 90 days from start date.

• This position is seasonal. We are looking for those who have evening, weekend and holiday availability.

• Approx. 20 hours per week; no more than 29 hours per week.

Travel:

Travel is not required for this position.
