Job Requirements: 
  • Chemical Substances Management: ensure that all chemicals are properly managed, including new chemical approval process; maintain an updated Chemical & SDS inventory in 3E software, ensure compliance with Hazard assessment and communication, risk assessment and exposure monitoring; handling, storage, spill prevention and personal protective equipment. Conduct program internal audits.
  • Contractor Management Program specifically; Provide weekly contractor safety talk and maintain the approved contractors inventory. Conduct program internal audits, issue reports and follow completion of recommended corrective actions.
  • Noise & Hearing Conservation Program: conduct sound levels surveys and personal dosimetry, evaluate and communicate results, participate in the engineering control plan to reduce high noise levels and on case management. Maintain an updated site noise levels mapping, support medical surveillance and recordkeeping. Conduct program internal audits, issue reports and follow completion of recommended corrective actions.
  • Biosafety Program - support the program basic characterization, hazard assessment and risk group ranking, biological safety containment levels and classification and the bloodborne pathogens exposure control plan, medical surveillance and recordkeeping. Conduct program internal audits, issue reports and follow completion of recommended corrective actions.
  • Radiation Safety - support the identification of radiation sources and potential exposures and the update of site inventory. Conduct program internal audits, issue reports and follow completion of recommended corrective actions.
  • Ergonomics - as required on Chapter 23 of WWEHS Standard; conduct ergonomic risk identification and assessments; update ergo assessments using ergo tool; lead ergo exercises initiatives; Ergo injury investigations, tracking and trending. Conduct program internal audits, issue reports and follow completion of recommended corrective actions.
  • Incident Investigation –maintain an updated log of occupational injury/illness investigation, track to closure and provide trending information to site EHSS staff. Conduct program internal audits, issue reports and follow completion of recommended corrective actions. Participate on case management discussion as required.
  • Safety Culture – support site’s safety culture initiatives by means of issuing weekly safety talks, safety calendar, and executing required safety culture promotion as part of the accident reduction strategies. Support site EHSS staff with Good Saves identification, report; trending and tracking to closure.
  • Respiratory Protection Program- maintain and update the site’s inventory of similar exposure groups (SEG); conduct qualitative and inventory of similar exposure groups (SEG); conduct qualitative and quantitative risk assessments of exposure to chemical agents by performing industrial hygiene exposure monitoring; evaluate exposure monitoring results and communication of results to employees; recommend controls to eliminate or reduce exposure to chemicals. Selection and recommendations of adequate respiratory protection equipment and adequate use and storage; ensure program compliance with fit test; medical surveillance and training. Conduct program internal audits, issue reports and follow completion of recommended corrective actions.

Education:
  • Bachelor Degree or Masters Degree in Industrial Hygiene.
