Purpose and Scope
SUMMARY DESCRIPTION
Works under general supervision to perform journeyman-level work, such as repairing and maintaining plumbing systems; evaluating layout plans and cost estimates related to plumbing; installing new plumbing; repairing existing plumbing fixtures; performing minor rebuilding tasks; and repairing or replacing miscellaneous plumbing equipment. Repairs gas-fired appliances and piping.

Graduation from high school with a high school diploma or possess a GED; Plus, four (4) years’ related experience. (Memphis and Shelby County Journeyman Plumber’s license and valid driver’s license required). (Class A gas license is preferred). (PROOF OF EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND/OR EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED).
Degree Equivalency Formula:
Bachelor’s Degree= 4 years plus required years of experience.
Master’s Degree= 2 years plus required years of experience. Where Master’s degrees are required, years for Bachelor’s Degrees must be included.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENT(S):
- Memphis and Shelby County Journeyman Plumber’s license
- Valid driver’s license

What you'll do
- The plumber will perform journeyman-level work including repairing and maintaining plumbing systems, installing new plumbing, and evaluating layout plans. They will also respond to emergency situations and perform related duties as assigned.
