Exciting Opportunity at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center: Join MSK as a Research Technician!  

You will have a chance to contribute to the work of Dr. Josh Jaeyop Lee - driven by a single purpose: transforming how cancer is treated. Dr. Lee's work focuses on unlocking the immune system’s ability to recognize and destroy cancer, paving the way for the next generation of immunotherapies. By uncovering the unique “fingerprints” of cancer cells, they develop personalized T-cell therapies that empower a patient’s own immune system to fight disease with precision, strength, and lasting impact.

Role Overview:  

  • Laboratory Support: Prepare and maintain lab equipment, instruments, solutions, stains, assays, and other essential supplies. 
  • Techniques & Assays: Perform specialized techniques, such as cell culture, transfection, viral production, T-cell cultures, PCR, Western blotting, DNA extraction. 
  • Animal Handling: Conduct animal studies involving working with immunodeficient mice, xenografting, and monitoring treatment effects after T-cell injection. 
  • Data Management: Record and analyze research data, prepare reports, and provide insights to the research team. 
  • Collaboration: Assist peers and researchers with ongoing projects, fostering a team-oriented, supportive environment. 

Key Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry or life sciences.. 
  • Experience with cell culture, transfection, viral production, T-cell cultures, PCR, Western blotting, and/or DNA extraction. 
  • Comfort working directly with animal models is required for this role.

  • Attention to detail and strong record-keeping habits.  
  • Ability to follow protocols while troubleshooting when needed.  
  • Team-oriented approach to supporting postdocs and fellow researchers.  
  • Adaptability in a dynamic lab environment.  

Additional Information: 

  • Location: NYC; Zuckerman Research Center 
  • Schedule: 37.5 hours per week (onsite)
