Exciting Opportunity at MSK: We are seeking a Patient Care Technician to become part of our team of dedicated professionals! As a member of our Magnet-designated Nursing team, you will provide support to the inpatient nursing staff while helping ensure the comfort and safety of our patients and their family members.
M4: Neuro/Ortho
38-bed inpatient unit specializing in medical-surgical, critical care, and telemetry. The unit primarily serves neurology, neurosurgical, and orthopedic patients with complex needs including cancer-related neurological conditions.
Role Overview:
Work under the supervision of a Clinical Nurse and assist patients in a timely and efficient manner
Handle patient care situations with a high level of integrity, compassion, and professionalism
Responsible for taking vital signs, performing EKGs, and collecting specimens
Collaborate with the clinical team and provide assistance with procedures as needed
Use basic computer and data entry skills to support clinical documentation
Key Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years of healthcare-related experience in one or more of the following roles:
Nursing Assistant (NA), Patient Care Technician (PCT), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Medical Technician, Phlebotomist, or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
OR
If less than 2 years of experience:
A Nursing Assistant or other healthcare-related certification obtained within the past 12 months, AND
At least 1 year of healthcare-related experience in one of the roles listed above
BLS certification required by time of hire
Epic EMR experience preferred

Schedule: Nights 7pm-7:30am; Monday through Friday, weekend and holiday rotation
