Job Summary:
Contributes to the team by assisting the physician with the performance of surgical procedures and instruments.
Required Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Must possess one of the following: Certification from an accredited school for Operating Room Technician, or graduate from an accredited practical nursing school, or extensive preparation through on-the-job training.
Licensure: Must have current licensure as indicated by profession (LPN must be licensed by State Board of Nursing).
Experience: Minimum of two(2) years training in surgical technology from a comparable medical institution. LPNs must have one (1) years' experience as a scrub technician. Or, a graduate of an accredited program in Surgical Technology may substitute for experience.
Skills, Knowledge, Abilities: Proficient Knowledge of duties and responsibilities of a surgical technician. The ability to communicate with co-workers in a professional manner. The ability to learn advanced procedures, instruments, and techniques.
Preferred Qualifications:
Education: N/A
Licensure: Certification in Surgical Technology.
Experience: One (1) year experience as a Certified Surgical Technician. Five (5) years of work experience as Surgical Technician.
