Patients depend on our team for the best in evidence-based care and innovative therapies, such as inhaled nitric oxide, high-frequency oscillation, and invasive and non-invasive ventilator support modalities. Opportunities exist for motivated Registered Respiratory Therapists (and Certified Respiratory Therapy Technicians) with the skills to provide a high level of quality service in a variety of settings including the ED, Trauma and Critical Care.

Summary:

Responsible for providing care for patients with cardiopulmonary disorders, training respiratory staff, leading performance improvement initiatives and project management.

Responsibilities:

Delivers and assesses response to ordered therapy per plan of care. Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.Educates the patient and family about the patient's illness and provides information about community support groups and other resources. Provides staff training and education.Evaluates respiratory care policies and procedures based on patient outcomes, current research, and best practices.Maintains requirements of Clinical Ladder.Responds to codes and calls for emergent assistance. Assesses patient condition and delivers appropriate treatment.

Additional Job Information:

Complexity of Work: Requires critical thinking skills, effective communication skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Required Work Experience: Three (3) years clinical experience with two (2) years in an area of specialty and one (1) year as an MHS employee. Other Information: National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) credential is preferred.Department Specific Credentials- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) for NICU,- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) for Pediatric areas- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) for Adult areasNote: For added clarification, see Mandatory Education Requirements Grid.
