Summary:

The level II Clinical Laboratory Technologist is responsible for performing, evaluating, and reporting of technical laboratory procedures on patient specimens for use in the diagnosis and treatment of disease. Follows established procedures to ensure laboratory quality control and compliance with professional standards of practice.

* Every other weekend required.
- Looking for a generalist with 1 year of blood bank experience, highly preferred.

Responsibilities:

Reports test results in a timely manner according to established laboratory protocols.Plans work and completes job responsibilities in an efficient and productive manner.Assesses competency of team members.Performs accurate and appropriate testing of specimens received in the laboratory, according to established laboratory protocol and procedures.Effectively manages resources such as productivity, supplies, instruments and equipment. Plans work and completes job responsibilities in an efficient and productive manner.May instruct and observe student technologists.Follows established procedures for laboratory quality control, ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, quality standards, compliance activities, and policies and procedures.Serves as a resource to laboratory staff and other clinical staff.Serves as Charge Technologist.

Bachelors (Required)Clinical Lab Supervisor License (SU LICENSE) - State of Florida (FL), Clinical Lab Technologist License (TN LICENSE) - State of Florida (FL)

Additional Job Information:

Complexity of Work: Intermediate knowledge of laboratory procedures and instrumentation. Ability to effectively relate and communicate with internal and external customers. Intermediate knowledge of laboratory information systems. Requires critical thinking skills, effective communication skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Required Work Experience: Minimum of three (3) years’ experience required as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist. Other Information: Additional Education Info: Associate’s degree with five (5) years or more of experience in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree. Bachelor’s degree required to assess competency.Additional Cert/License Info: Florida State License as a Technologist (TN License) or Supervisor (SU License) in the area of responsibility
