Performs specialty functions in support of medication reconciliation. Obtains a current medication list for admitted patients through in-person interviews. Performs second sourcing by collecting medication list and verifying this with a second source.
Qualifications
Education:
- High School Graduate or equivalent required.
Experience:
- Minimum of six months experience in healthcare preferred.
Other Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Demonstrates excellent verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to input data accurately and efficiently into the Cerner Health Information System.
- Effectively utilize drug information resources.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
- Ability to set priorities.

What you'll do
- The Medication History Technician conducts scripted interviews with patients to obtain their current medication lists and allergy histories. They also resolve discrepancies with pharmacists and document information in the Cerner Health Information System.
