Overview

Melaleuca has an immediate opening for a Jr. Mechanic in our Maintenance Dept.  This position supports manufacturing operations through changeover, set-up, and repair of production equipment. Performs basic mechanical repairs on Company equipment machinery and facilities.

This position is located in Kansas City, Missouri and is a Non-Smoking Campus

Shift:

Weekend Shift - 5:00am - 5:30pm Fri, Sat & Sun

Responsibilities

• Maintains all plant equipment by sanitizing, cleaning, lubricating, and making mechanical repairs.
• Works long or unusual hours on assigned shift.
• Performs various special projects according to skill and ability.
• Performs set-up, changeover, and repair of production equipment.
• Performs other duties as assigned or needed.
• Performs facility assignments as required

Qualifications

 Just as important as your experience and skills will be the following characteristics and competencies:

• Ability to troubleshoot most equipment in facility.
• Ability to complete full changeover unassisted.
• Ability to work independently.
• Ability to install and repair plumbing.
• Ability to repair pneumatic equipment.
• Basic compressor knowledge.
• Ability to work under stress.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
• Standing, sitting or walking for duration of shift.
• Visually read work orders, product, etc.
• Manual dexterity for such duties as needed in the maintenance field.
• Ability to work in high elevations, climb stairs, etc.
• Ability to organize and coordinate projects.
• Good math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide, etc.).
• Written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to perform the essential duties and responsibilities with efficiency and accuracy.
• Beginning electrical experience.
• Basic knowledge of boiler operation.
• Knowledge of advanced mechanical tools.
• Ability to lift up to 100 lbs.
• Beginning welding experience.
