The Role

Medify is recruiting multiple motivated and passionate Humanities and Social Sciences graduates with excellent written communication skills to write multiple-choice questions for the Graduate Medical School Admissions Test (GAMSAT) on a flexible freelance basis.

These questions assess a candidate’s ability to:

• Understand what a passage explicitly states or implies
• Analyse an author’s technique, argument, or purpose

This role is well suited to writers who enjoy close reading, critical reasoning, and explaining complex thought processes clearly.

What You’ll Do

• Write high-quality multiple-choice questions based on passages drawn from a wide range of humanities and social science topics
• Develop plausible answer options that challenge candidates’ reasoning skills
• Produce detailed written explanations justifying why each answer option is correct or incorrect
• Respond to structured editorial feedback and iteratively improve your work
• Contribute to a growing question bank used by thousands of GAMSAT candidates

Pay, Hours & Location

• Pay: From £25 per hour
• Hours: Minimum availability of 8–10 hours per month
  • Initial assignments will be small during training
  • Workload may increase with experience and availability
    
• Location: Fully remote
  • You will need a computer and reliable internet access
    

Requirements

• An undergraduate degree in a humanities or social science discipline
• Either:
  • Currently enrolled on a postgraduate programme, or
  • At least two years’ paid professional writing or editing experience
    
• Confidence writing challenging, high-quality questions across a range of humanities and social science topics
• Strong ability to articulate reasoning and thought processes clearly
• A demonstrable and sustained interest in writing

Selection Process
