About the Role:

The OR Sterile Processing Technician in a PRN capacity plays a critical role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of surgical procedures by meticulously sterilizing, assembling, and distributing surgical instruments and equipment. Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic knowledge of sterilization techniques, infection control, and safety standards.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and maintain accurate records.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods and handle surgical instruments safely.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification as a Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) or equivalent.
• Completion of a sterile processing technician training program or equivalent experience in sterile processing.
• Experience working in a healthcare or manufacturing environment related to sterile processing.
• Familiarity with non-durable goods manufacturing processes related to medical or surgical supplies.
• Strong organizational skills and experience with inventory management systems.
• Ability to work flexible hours in a PRN (as-needed) capacity.

Responsibilities:

• Sterilize, clean, and prepare surgical instruments and equipment according to established protocols and manufacturer guidelines.
• Inspect instruments for cleanliness, functionality, and damage, ensuring all items meet quality standards before distribution.
• Assemble surgical instrument trays and sets tailored to specific procedures, maintaining accurate inventory and documentation.
• Operate sterilization equipment such as autoclaves and ultrasonic cleaners, monitoring cycles and maintaining equipment logs.
• Collaborate with surgical teams and other healthcare professionals to ensure timely availability of sterile supplies during procedures.
