Job Description Summary

The “In Our DNA SC” community health research project is designed to improve health care outcomes by integrating genetic insights into clinical care and research. The Research Coordinator will provide technical and professional services within this statewide project. The position will assist the Principal Investigator (PI) involved in the coordination of human subject activities as delegated by the PI. Responsibilities may include the recruitment of study participants, coordinating collection events, and completing collection events.

Job Description

Under the general supervision of the Clinical Trials Manager, the Research Coordinator coordinates and oversees complex data management and regulatory activities for clinical research studies, including industry-sponsored, investigator-initiated, and funded or unfunded trials. This role supports protocol management, patient screening and enrollment, follow-up, and overall data integrity.

The Research Coordinator manages multiple studies involving human subjects, including trials with drugs and medical devices. The position requires close collaboration with Principal Investigators (PIs), patients, sponsors, and institutional partners to ensure compliance with institutional policies, Internal Review Board (IRB) requirements, and study protocols. The Coordinator is responsible for accurate data collection, regulatory documentation, participant tracking, and reporting of adverse events and protocol deviations.
