The Phlebotomist Tech IV reports to the Laboratory Manager. Under general supervision, draws and collects blood samples from patients, verifies records and prepares specimens for laboratory analysis. May collect capillary specimens. May conduct interviews and draw blood samples to screen donors at blood bank. The Phlebotomist Tech IV is expected to demonstrate knowledge, skills, and behaviors consistent with competent practice.

Job Description

The Phlebotomist Tech IV reports to the Laboratory Manager.  Under general supervision, draws and collects blood samples from patients, verifies records and prepares specimens for laboratory analysis. May collect capillary specimens.  May conduct interviews and draw blood samples to screen donors at blood bank. The Phlebotomist Tech IV is expected to demonstrate knowledge, skills, and behaviors consistent with competent practice.

Additional Job Description

Education: High school degree or equivalent. Experience: 3 Years work experience in phlebotomy required. Credentials: Completed Accredited Phlebotomy Certificate Course, PBT(ASCP), NCA, NHA, NPT or Equivalent Phlebotomy Certification.  NOTE: Care team Member's hired into this position before September 22, 2024 are grandfathered from certification requirements. This is a Career Ladder Position.  Internal candidates are required to submit and meet Path and Lab ICCE Career Ladder requirements.  External candidates are required to complete Path and Lab ICCEE Career Ladder requirements within 1 year in position.
