The Mental Health Technician (Patient Care Technician or Certified Nurse Assistant) performs routine duties within the limits of training and certification in caring for the hospitalized patient. The care is rendered under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Performs other duties related to the work described herein.

Additional Job Description

Minimum Training and Education:  High School Diploma or GED required. Completion of a CNA program within 6 months preferred if not already certified.

Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations: Currently registered as a Certified Nurse Assistant in South Carolina; must be current in the Nurse Aide Registry. Will be required to maintain American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS). Crisis prevention training may be required based on department requirements.
