Job Description

Provides genetic counseling, testing and results disclosure to individuals and families at risk for hereditary cancer disorders by referral. Provides post-test counseling for In Our DNA SC participants who test positive for mutation and facilitates connection with the Hereditary Cancer Clinic. Supports Hereditary Cancer Clinic by providing pre-appointment family pedigree assessment and discussion of cascade testing. Supports cancer center tumor boards and accreditation standards. Serves as content expert providing education to the community, patients, families, providers, and staff relative to the dynamic changing landscape surrounding cancer genetics from prevention, treatment, and testing perspectives. Supports expansion of the genetic counseling field through precepting students.

Additional Job Description

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Master's degree in Genetic Counseling from an accredited training program with clinical experience obtained on rotation as an intern. American Board of Genetic Counseling Certified, or eligible for board certification preferred.
