About this role

Responsibilities:
1. Interacts with each individual patient, preferably face to face, new to MRMC chemotherapy and/or radiation therapy. Explains to each patient HOPE resources available to patients and their families.  
2. Discusses potential needs the patient may have that would present a barrier to care.
3. Triages patients as appropriate to additional human resources as needed, i.e.: patient oncology navigator, oncology social worker, etc. 
4. For services obviously eligible for HOPE resource assistance, makes these resources available to the patient, i.e.: gas cards for transportation, medication assistance through the retail pharmacy, tube feedings through the pharmacy, immediate needs as appropriate, educational material as needed, and other resources as appropriate.
5. Maintains records of all HOPE assistance provided to patients. Tracks via spreadsheets in real time.
6. Provides monthly to Director and VP of HOPE funds usage reports.
7. Assesses needs presented from prior year to determine HOPE grant requests for subsequent years. Discusses with staff possible needs and opportunities to assist the cancer population.
8. Coordinates with Inspirations Gift Shop to provide items for the HOPE cart for both inpatient and outpatient areas. 
9. Creates and presents reports to HOPE Committee quarterly and/or as requested.
10. Other duties as assigned.

Job Type: Full-time; 80 hours biweekly

Qualifications:
Basic Computer Skills required for hire. 
Proficiency with organizational specific computer systems within 180 days of hire (i.e.: Microsoft office, excel, word, etc.)

Education: High School/Ged
