Position Summary:
Operates the call attendant- Cisco Phone System, handles patient, physician and all other incoming calls to McLaren Lapeer Region. Monitors the alarms and answers the emergency phone lines in the Communications area. Uses various Communication platforms to notify physicians and staff members as needed. Answers calls for MHG satellites (Hospice, Home Care and Infusion) after hours. Processes and delivers all forms and central copy jobs, as needed for departments. Performs central copy and mailroom functions. Delivers mail, test results, medical records and informational data to all departments. Delivers and exchanges patient telephones and other communication equipment as needed for departments. Assists with various communication and other department projects.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
1. Operates the call attendant Cisco Phone system (switchboard) 2. Monitors all alarms in the Communications area, and uses various paging systems to page/notify physicians and staff members 3. Answers and handles emergency telephone calls 4. Utilizes and updates the on line MHG and physician call schedule as needed. 5. Answers calls for MHG satellites (Hospice, Home Care and Infusion) after hours. 6. Picks up outgoing and interdepartmental mail 7. Processes and delivers mail, test results, medical records and informational data to all departments 8. Processes and delivers forms and Central Copy jobs, as needed for departments 9. Delivers and exchanges patient telephones and other communication equipment as needed for departments 10. Assists with communication projects, coverage and other related duties 11. Assists with miscellaneous job duties for the gift shop, such as pricing items and ordering stock. 12. Performs other department related duties as assigned |
Qualifications:
Required:
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Must be able to alphabetize and file
· Ability to read and write
Preferred:
· Previous experience/training as a Switchboard Operator
· Clerical skills
· Computer training - Microsoft Office application
