GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Supervise and coordinate activities of workers engaged in installation.  Responsible for managing and coordinating assigned projects from installation through punch; supervise the installation of furniture. Inspect the work of employees engaged in installation, maintenance, and service work. Conduct daily site visits to ensure highest quality and customer satisfaction levels.  Direct work and supervise assigned team. 

  

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for the overall execution of installation project by reading blueprints, floor plans, utilizing appropriate technology tools and installation drawings to determine best method and sequence of installation  meet project deadlines. 
  • Maintain effective and timely line of communication with Installation Manager, Dispatcher and Customer Service Coordinator
  • Organize and oversee labor crews at customer sites, including logistics oversight, safe operations, technical problem solving, quality inspection and proper documentation
  • Train, develop and appraise staff effectively. Take corrective action as necessary on a timely basis and in accordance with company policy. Communicate with Installation Manager and partner with Human Resources as appropriate.
  • Partner with Installation Manager in making resource suggestions for scheduling based on construction conditions/site-specific issues including revisions and additions of routes. Communicate changes to Installation Manager 
  • Monitor and supervise installations ensuring agreed upon deadlines are met; manage to budget
  • Initiate learning opportunities: train and develop crew members and sub-contractors on products and installation procedures to meet client expectations and maintain McCoy-Rockford’s standards
  • Make daily jobsite visits prior to and during to installations to determine field dimensions and site readiness.
  • Communicate daily with Installation team regarding progress, issues, and concerns with project. Communicate shortages, damages, and change orders to Installation Manager.
  • Assist Installation Manager in the creation of punch list to facilitate project completion
  • Monitor and enforce company and client rules, regulations, and safety requirements and attend monthly safety meetings
  • Partner with Safety and Risk department to ensure installation’s training requirements are met
  • Maintain your customer site specific badge requirements
  • Direct responsibility for Field Installation Managers Team
  • Direct responsibility for all badging requirements
  • Managing operational supplies/inventories of tools, equipment and materials
  • Back-up dispatch for assigning supervisor and allocating manpower for jobs under $75K
  • Back-up dispatch for scheduling jobs under $75K with clients
  • Supporting ongoing training efforts of Ops team members including product, safety and HR required online trainings

KEY SELECTION AND SUCCESS FACTORS

 

WORK EXPERIENCE:

 

  • At least 3 years’ work experience in installation, project management, construction or related field 
  • 2 years’ performing office furniture installation strongly preferred
  • 1+ years of supervisory experience

 

EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Degree or equivalent, some college preferred
  • Can drive company vehicles complying with McCoy-Rockford’s driving standards and maintaining a clear driving record
  •  

 

OTHER/PREFERRED:

  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills
  • Good judgment, problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Ability to multi-task and work with many interruptions
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Ability to speak to groups effectively and maintain audience interest
  • Able to learn and pass safety driver training program 
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office software

  • Able to travel to customer and other job sites
  • Able to work overtime with little advance notice, when needed
  • Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts
  • Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, excessive heat, cold and precipitation
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
  • Regularly required to use hands and arms to reach and handle product
  • Frequently is required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, sit/or and walk stairs
  • Required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds approx. 4 hours a day
  • Required to carry pieces weighing up to 50 pounds without mechanical assistance
  • Required to push and pull pieces with a force up to 100 lbs.
  • Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
