Mobile Service Technician
McCarthy Chevrolet- Overland Park is seeking a reliable and customer-focused Mobile Service Technician to perform routine maintenance and light repair services at customer homes, workplaces, and off-site locations. This role is ideal for a technician who enjoys working independently, values customer interaction, and takes pride in delivering convenient, high-quality service outside of the traditional shop environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform mobile automotive services such battery replacement, filters, wipers, safety recalls, and basic inspections
- Safely operate and maintain a company-provided mobile service vehicle and tools
- Communicate clearly with customers regarding services performed and vehicle needs
- Use a laptop to accurately document completed work.
- Follow all safety procedures and manufacturer guidelines
- Coordinate with the service department regarding scheduling, parts, and service needs
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional mobile service setup
Qualifications
- Automotive technician experience (mobile service experience a plus)
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Strong mechanical aptitude and diagnostic skills for routine maintenance
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Comfortable using tablets or mobile devices for work orders and documentation
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors in varying conditions
- Flexibility with workload and schedule changes throughout the day
- Attention to detail while making repairs
- Use time efficiently
- Must be willing and able to perform video MPI on every vehicle serviced
Preferred Certifications (Not Required)
- ASE Certification(s)
- Manufacturer certifications
- Prior dealership or fleet service experience
