This role will be the manager for the Clinical Nutrition department overseeing the Mayo Clinic Health System. Work location can be Mankato, MN, Austin, MN, Eau Claire, WI or La Crosse WI.
This role will report and receive direction from practice administration. The clinical nutrition manager is responsible for leading planning, directing, and coordinating operational and personnel activities to ensure the provision of quality services to meet the needs of Clinical Nutrition employees and patients. The role includes ongoing collaboration and communication utilizing shared goal setting and decision making with physicians, department staff and multidisciplinary team members across the enterprise. Management/Quality Improvement - Applies Quality Lean Process to improve practice. Applies and ensures work unit compliance with professional, institutional and departmental policies and procedures and regulatory standards. The manager oversees operations of allied health staff in the outpatient and inpatient settings, strategic planning for clinical nutrition and serves as a key member of the of the multidisciplinary management team. Communication, organizational and human relation skills are required in addition to decision-making and judgment capabilities. Duties include planning and implementation of policies and systems, staffing and workload management, financial/business acumen, support of department/division initiatives, institutional projects and staff recruitment. The manager must be able to perform duties independently and use good judgment when responding to management issues. In addition, the manager must be able to perform the duties of a clinical dietitian, utilizing the Nutrition Care Process as Medical Nutrition Therapy is provided to patients.
