Role Overview
A Senior Software Engineer in Test (LSET) is responsible for driving the quality strategy of software products by designing, developing, and maintaining robust test automation frameworks and test strategies. This role blends deep technical expertise with leadership in quality engineering, ensuring scalable, secure, and high-performing systems.

🔧 Key Responsibilities
- Test Strategy & Planning: Define and document test strategies aligned with business goals, covering functional, non-functional, regression, and performance testing 1.
- Automation Leadership: Design and implement scalable test automation frameworks using tools like JUnit, Selenium, RestAssured, Cucumber, and Spring Cloud Contract 1.
- Performance & Scalability Testing: Conduct load, spike, endurance, and breakpoint testing to assess system limits and behaviours 1.
- CI/CD Integration: Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to ensure continuous quality validation.
- Mentorship & Collaboration: Guide junior engineers, collaborate with developers, product managers, and DevOps to embed quality throughout the SDLC 2.
- Defect Management: Drive root cause analysis, defect triaging, and continuous improvement through metrics like defect density and leakage 1.
- Tooling & Infrastructure: Evaluate and implement test infrastructure and tools to support evolving testing needs.

Required Skills & Experience

Technical Proficiency:

- Strong programming skills in Java (or equivalent).
- Experience with test automation frameworks and tools (e.g., Selenium, Appium, RestAssured).
- Familiarity with microservices, APIs, and cloud-native architectures.
- Understanding of secure coding practices and vulnerability management

Testing Expertise:

- Deep knowledge of testing types: unit, integration, system, regression, performance, and security.
- Experience with test data management and mocking strategies.

Soft Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
- Ability to lead cross-functional quality initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Experience in Agile/Scrum environments.
