Job Summary
At the Mass General Brigham Heart & Vascular Institute, our cardiology, cardiac surgery, and vascular care teams collaborate seamlessly to provide comprehensive, patient-centered heart and vascular care. Our cardiologists focus on diagnosing and managing heart conditions, our cardiac surgeons perform life-saving procedures like bypass surgery and valve repair, and our vascular specialists treat circulatory disorders affecting the arteries and veins, ensuring each patient receives a personalized, multidisciplinary approach for optimal heart and vascular health.

1. Patient & Exam Verification: Confirm patient identity using two identifiers (full name and DOB). Review exam orders and clinical history. Prepare and clean equipment and rooms; restock supplies as needed
2. Patient Care & Collaboration: Clearly explain procedures, considering patient comfort and confidentiality. Collaborate with leadership to ensure efficient workflow and scanner use. Provide care within the scope of training and licensure.
3. Department & On-Call Coverage: Participate in on-call, holiday, and flexible shift coverage as needed.
4. Clinical Performance: Perform ultrasound exams and assist with training staff and students. Operate equipment and follow protocols. Complete additional duties as assigned.
5. Quality & Research Initiatives: Support and participate in departmental quality assurance & improvement projects. Conduct research-related ultrasound exams as required.
6. Performs the following case types: Carotid, Lower/Upper DVT, ABI/PVI, Mapping.
7. Performs some of the following case types: PVR/ABI with Exercise (includes TOS), Abdominal, Native LE/UE Art US, Art BOG US LE/UE, Other non-vascular studies. US LE/UE, Other non-vascular studies.
*Certain lab settings may have a mix of vascular & cardiac responsibilities.
8. Performs diagnostic studies in the ambulatory and/or acute care hospital setting, including portable studies.
