Job Summary

The Application Analyst I in the MGB Biomedical Engineering department is responsible for front line support and maintenance of the department’s clinical IT systems including but not limited to Biomedical Device Integration (BMDI), GE MUSE EKG management, OBIX fetal monitoring, data interfaces for medical device systems, and general network connectivity for supported medical devices. The Analyst is the first-responder for biomedical systems issues at various MGB sites and provides at-the-elbow support within the hospital for clinicians and other users of supported systems.

The Analyst works individually and in team settings with IT Hardware Technicians, Clinical Engineers, Software Developers, and System Administrators to assist with projects and maintenance tasks. This includes but is not limited to systems testing, upgrades, interface enhancements, and training end users and biomedical support staff. The position is primarily onsite at one of MGB’s Academic Medical Centers and participates in departmental on-call support coverage as needed.


 

Qualifications

Education Bachelor's Degree Computer Science required or Bachelor's Degree Related Field of Study required Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? Yes Licenses and Credentials Experience Related IT experience, ideally in healthcare IT environment 0-1 year required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Experience in the development, support, or operation of software applications, preferably in a healthcare setting. - Ability to document workflows and business processes. - Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical staff. - Problem-solving skills. - Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 and other popular office productivity solutions.
