About this role
Job Purpose
Day-to-day responsibility (with oversight from the Head of Treasury – UK) for the asset and liability management function within UK Treasury, ensuring efficient and effective funding of the asset portfolio. Responsible for money market operations, FX trades, currency gap management, investment in securities, and deposits with banks and other financial institutions, in compliance with the regulatory framework and local and global liquidity policies, and in coordination with the Head of Treasury and Head Office Funding Centre.
Key Result Areas
Ensure appropriate balance sheet management to enable local funding of the UK asset book.
Ensure optimal profitability for the bank from ALM activities within specified risk parameters and local regulations.
Monitor the size, liquidity, and ratios of the local balance sheet for effective balance sheet control.
Monitor and manage, within approved limits, all external and internal liquidity, currency, and interest rate–related risk positions and ensure development of operating systems for existing and new products.
Ensure adherence to dealing ethics and the Bank’s code of conduct.
Ensure accurate and timely dissemination of MIS to the Head of Treasury, Country Head, and Head Office requirements.
Provide monthly input to ALCO, working with Finance to correlate internal reporting.
Interact with counterparties including banks, financial institutions, and brokers.
Ensure that the Bank complies with regulatory requirements within the relevant domain, including adherence to all necessary policies and procedures in place.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Bachelor's degree, preferably with specialization in finance
Significant experience in treasury operations (10-12 years)
Knowledge of market risk analysis and fundamental economic data
Meticulous /time bound/ able to attend to multiple tasks in a time bound manner
