Location: Hybrid (based at any of our distribution centres in Hemel, Coventry, Basingstoke, Darlington, or Heywood) 

 

Travel: Some travel to London required & travel to other customer sites in the UK as needed.

Your Role: 

In this pivotal role as Head of Waste and Circularity, you will spearhead our waste reduction and resource recovery strategies while embracing the intricacies of legislation and contractor dynamics. Your influential leadership will inspire teams throughout our organisation to think creatively and engage actively with our sustainability goals.

 

Key Responsibilities Include: 

  • Vendor Management: Take the lead in the RFP process for waste management contractors, leveraging your industry insights to ensure compliance and maximise performance.
  • Programme Development: Innovate and implement groundbreaking recycling systems and closed-loop solutions within our UK & IE Circularity Programme.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and cultivate relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, effectively winning their hearts and minds to support our circularity initiatives.
  • Data Governance: Establish best practices for tracking programme progress, ensuring robust measurement of impact, and delivering actionable insights.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay at the forefront of industry trends, championing initiatives that enhance efficiency and compliance while nurturing a mindset of continuous enhancement.

Who You Are: 

  • A passionate leader with a substantial background in sustainability or waste management, ready to face challenges head-on with enthusiasm and energy.
  • An expert in the waste landscape, with hands-on experience in working with waste contractors and navigating regulatory changes.
  • A master communicator with exceptional interpersonal skills, capable of influencing and engaging with stakeholders at all levels with ease.
  • A strategic problem solver who thrives on innovation, continuously seeking creative solutions to the evolving waste agenda.
