JOB SUMMARY

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) works under the direction of a primary care provider, as part of the healthcare team, and is responsible for providing general clinical nursing support. The individual is accountable for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the nursing care required for the patient and assists in the development and revision of patient’s care plan.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION

For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.

Minimum Required: Knowledge of patient care standards and practices acquired through graduation from an accredited LPN program or documentation of nursing education and training through an accredited Registered Nurse program that meets state requirements to take LPN boards.

Preferred/Optional: LPN diploma. Associate degree in nursing.

EXPERIENCE 

Minimum Required: Experience working with patient care. Demonstrated proficiency with verbal, non-verbal, and written communication skills.

Preferred/Optional: Experience as a licensed practical nurse within an area relative to the hiring department.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES 

The following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position. Licenses with restrictions are subject to review to determine if restrictions are substantially related to the position.

Minimum Required: LPN license awarded by the applicable state. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) within three months of hire.

Preferred/Optional: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) at time of hire.
