JOB SUMMARY
The Clinical Nursing Informaticist (CNI) is accountable and responsible for facilitating delivery of quality patient care through the use of clinical and financial systems. This individual provides consultation and coordination to the educational development of staff members and acts as a role model in clinical practice. The Clinical Nursing Informaticist strives to improve patient outcomes by integrating evidence based practice and standards of excellence into clinical practice. This individual serves as a liaison for clinicians to facilitate a common understanding of information system needs, end user processes, and alignment with the organizational goals.
This position can be located in Eau Claire, Marshfield, or Weston.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.
Minimum Required: Associate’s degree in nursing.
Preferred/Optional: Bachelor's degree in nursing or related healthcare field.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum Required: Two years of clinical experience.
Preferred/Optional: Demonstrated experience in evaluating, designing and implementing informatics programs, tools and medical devices that compliment and interface with electronic medical record systems to include PowerChart, FirstNet and Surginet. One year experience in informatics training, nursing education, staff or professional development.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES
The following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position. Licenses with restrictions are subject to review to determine if restrictions are substantially related to the position.
Minimum Required: Current State of Wisconsin Registered Nurse License or Nurse Compact License.
Preferred/Optional: Clinical Specialty Certification in Nursing Informatics.
