Rivers Health is seeking a Per-diem MLT/MT in the Laboratory. This position will be responsible for the following duties:
Obtain specimens, performs analysis and reports test results within
department standards and hospital policies and procedures.

EDUCATION AND FORMAL TRAINING:
Baccalaureate degree in medical technology or related field plus
eligibility for ASCP and/or associate degree in applied science or related field plus eligibility for certification by ASCP and WV License.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
None. Three years or greater of general staff tech experience preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Must be able to perform vein and/or (capillary) punctures. Must be able to read and understand laboratory instruction manuals. Must demonstrate the ability to identify and address the special needs of the ages of patients including neonates, adolescents, pediatrics, and geriatrics and can effectively communicate with the patient.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able see and understand test instruments and results, and have
manual dexterity to handle test equipment, collect specimens and be able to communicate to the patient’s pertinent information concerning the collection of the specimen and test procedures. Required to handle frequent physical, mental, and emotional demands.
