About this role

Description

Markon is seeking a senior-level Business Process Consultant with deep cybersecurity expertise to provide governance, preparedness, and response guidance in support of mission-critical operations. This role partners closely with leadership and operational stakeholders to strengthen cybersecurity posture, drive strategic alignment, and support the annual update of the directorate cybersecurity strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Provide expert guidance on cybersecurity governance, policy alignment, and risk management best practices.
  • Support organizational cyber preparedness and response planning, including advising on response processes and operational readiness.
  • Assist with the annual cybersecurity strategy update, including collecting inputs, aligning priorities, tracking initiatives, and documenting strategic outputs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve cybersecurity-related business processes and ensure consistency across the directorate.
  • Develop and deliver briefings, strategy documentation, and supporting materials for leadership and mission stakeholders.
  • Identify gaps, recommend improvements, and support implementation of governance and compliance processes.

Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph.
  • 8+ years of relevant experience supporting cybersecurity governance, preparedness, incident response planning, or related cybersecurity mission efforts.
  • Senior-level cybersecurity expertise (certifications preferred) with strong knowledge of governance frameworks, operational security practices, and response concepts.
  • Proven ability to advise leadership and communicate clearly across technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience supporting strategy development, process improvement, and organizational planning efforts.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Cybersecurity certifications (e.g., Security+, CISSP, CISM, or equivalent)
  • Experience supporting directorate-level or enterprise cybersecurity initiatives
  • Background in developing strategic roadmaps, KPIs, or governance metrics

Salary Range

USD $180,000.00 - USD $205,000.00 /Yr.The Markon pay range for this position is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
