About the Position

The Real Property Specialist supports Senior Real Property Specialists in managing the full lifecycle of county real estate activities, including the acquisition and disposition of county‑owned properties, as well as the administration of leases and licenses for multiple County departments. The role also includes maintaining accurate data and overseeing assigned properties and County agreements within the Land Management System.

This position offers:

  • Opportunity to gain experience and skills in government real estate transactions

  • Collaboration with a team of professionals responsible for managing the many facets of county-owned and leased properties

  • Researching, updating agreement terms, drafting and preparing legal documents, communicating with different departments, and managing documents to fully execute

  • Interact with Directors, Project Managers and peers in various County departments, Title Companies, and Private and Government Landlords and Tenants

  • Sense of accomplishment and pride in your work

About the Department
The Maricopa County Real Estate Department partners with various departments and agencies to manage the acquisition of space and improvements for County personnel and land for infrastructure improvement projects. We maintain real property data in the Land Management System and OnBase for County-owned and leased facilities, as well as for the acquisition/lease/disposition of County real property. We Require

  • Two years of experience in real estate transactions, property management, or related technical positions that involve land/property rights and drafting real estate agreements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Business, Urban Planning, Public Administration or STEM field

  • An equivalent combination of post-secondary education and/or job-related experience may substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis

Other Requirements

  • Intermediate experience or training in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, Teams, and OnBase

  • Good organizational skills

  • Please note – AZ Real Estate License must be placed in Inactive status while working with the Maricopa County Real Estate Department

Job Contributions

  • Document migration to the repository and the Land Management System and continued data management of county's electronic and hard copy real estate documents

  • Drafting Leases, Licenses, Amendments, Letters of Intent, Purchase and Sale Agreements, and Agenda Items. Incorporate redlines and ensure their accuracy

  • General office duties include scanning documents and data entry. Audit and abstract leases and files Correspond with County Departments and outside Landlords, Tenants, and Contractors

  • Offer ideas and opinions to better equip the real estate department and streamline work

  • Assist in special projects or with other departments

Working Conditions

  • Exerting up to 10 lbs. occasionally or negligible weights frequently; sitting most of the time

  • Position is typically office or administrative work and is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions
