Job Description
The Tree Sales Associate helps customers select the right trees for their landscapes and ensures the tree sales area is well-stocked, healthy, and beautifully maintained. This position is perfect for someone who enjoys working outdoors, talking with customers, and has a passion for trees and gardening.
This position requires working outdoors in various weather conditions and lifting up to 50 lbs regularly.
Key Responsibilities
- Customer Service: Greet customers in the tree sales area and assist them in selecting the best trees for their specific needs and growing conditions.
- Product Knowledge: Learn about the different types of trees we carry, including ornamental, shade, evergreen, and fruit trees, and how to plant and care for them properly.
- Inventory Care: Monitor the health of trees, water them regularly, and help with tagging and restocking as needed.
- Sales Support: Help customers load trees and coordinate with the carry-out team or loading area.
- Clean & Tidy Work Area: Maintain a clean and organized tree sales area to create a pleasant shopping experience.
- Team Collaboration: Work alongside other team members to keep the department running smoothly.
- Training Completion: Participate in required training sessions, including Tree Identification, Proper Planting Techniques, and Safe Lifting Practices.
Qualifications
- Friendly, helpful attitude and a passion for customer service
- Interest in trees and outdoor plants (we’ll teach you the rest!)
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Physical ability to lift 40–50 lbs regularly and perform physically demanding tasks
- Willingness to learn and grow in a retail nursery setting

About Marcum's Nursery
Our company has two retail locations, our original store in Goldsby, OK established in 1982 and our Oklahoma City store established in 1994. We have 140 acres of nursery stock in production. Most of our nursery stock is shade, ornamental and flowering trees. We produce most of our annual color in our own greenhouses located at both locations.
Marcum's Nursery has a long list of clientel in both residential and commercial landscaping. We have completed numerous large projects and have gained a reputation as a company that can get things done.
