Job Description
The Shrub Sales Associate is responsible for ensuring that plants are well cared for and displayed, assisting customers with their shrub and tree needs, and providing basic landscaping advice. This role routinely involves unloading deliveries of shrubs and trees, organizing the nursery area, and providing a high level of customer service. Ideal candidates will enjoy working outdoors, have strong plant knowledge (especially in shrubs and trees), and be able to lift heavier items when necessary.
This position requires working outdoors under varying weather conditions and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. with assistance from carts as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Customer Assistance: Engage with customers to understand their landscaping goals and provide expert advice on shrub and tree selections, planting tips, and general landscaping strategies.
- Sales Support: Answer customer questions and assist with inquiries on shrub, tree, and landscape plant care.
- Plant Care and Display: Maintain healthy, vibrant shrub and tree displays, including watering, pruning, and seasonal care tasks to ensure they are ready for sale.
- Inventory and Receiving: Unload deliveries of shrubs and trees, stock and label items accurately, and organize nursery inventory.
- Landdscaping Guidance: Offer guidance on plant placement, spacing, and maintenance to help customers design beautiful, healthy landscapes.
- Training Completion: Participate in required training sessions to stay knowledgeable on plant care and customer service best practices.
- Greenhouse and Nursery Maintenance: Help keep the nursery area clean and organized, ensuring a welcoming shopping environment for customers.

About Marcum's Nursery
Our company has two retail locations, our original store in Goldsby, OK established in 1982 and our Oklahoma City store established in 1994. We have 140 acres of nursery stock in production. Most of our nursery stock is shade, ornamental and flowering trees. We produce most of our annual color in our own greenhouses located at both locations.
Marcum's Nursery has a long list of clientel in both residential and commercial landscaping. We have completed numerous large projects and have gained a reputation as a company that can get things done.
