As Lead Quality Engineer, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring our systems deliver on this promise by embedding quality engineering practices across our technology ecosystem.


Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mature QE practices for Group Benefits Claims Technology.

  • Define and maintain quality standards, critical metrics, and automated testing strategies, including data synthetics for test automation.

  • Develop and maintain automated test suites for functional, integration, and end-to-end testing across five squads operating under the Scaled Agile Framework Agile Release Train model.  

  • Establish accountability for quality engineering within squads and build succession planning through coaching and mentoring engineers.

  • Act as a conduit across Group Benefits technology teams, ensuring consistent quality across back-end services, front-end applications, and external integrations.

  • Collaborate using JIRA, JIRA Xray (for test case management), Azure DevOps, and GitHub for planning, execution, and reporting.

Required Qualifications:

  • Expertise in test automation frameworks and methodologies, including Selenium, Playwright, Robot Framework, and Bruno.

  • Strong understanding of API testing, CI/CD pipelines, cloud environments, and data-driven testing strategies.

  • Hands-on experience in automated testing, quality assurance metrics, and defect analysis.

  • Ability to lead technical practices and influence collaboration and strengthen partnerships.

  • Growth mindset with a passion for mentoring engineers and driving continuous improvement.

  • AI-assisted test case generation: Use AI to process user stories and technical requirements to automatically create test cases and scripts.

  • Synthetic data generation: Apply AI to produce realistic test data for better coverage.

  • Defect prediction and prioritization: Leverage machine learning to identify high-risk areas and optimize testing efforts.

Preferred Qualifications

  • SAFe methodology.  

  • Familiarity with enterprise-scale quality engineering in complex ecosystems.

  • Background in Group Benefits industry or Financial Services.

Salary range is expected to be between

$113,260.00 CAD - $210,340.00 CAD

The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
