KEY OBJECTIVE(S)

The primary objective of the Security Dispatcher is to enhance and coordinate the overall safety, security, and emergency response operations throughout American Dream. This role functions as the central communications hub for Security Operations, ensuring timely and efficient coordination of resources, accurate information exchange, and rapid response to incidents impacting guests, tenants, team members, and property. The Security Dispatcher is essential to maintaining real-time situational awareness and supporting life safety, asset protection, and operational continuity throughout the property.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Serve as the primary communications and coordination center for American Dream Security Operations.
• Promptly receive, assess, prioritize, and dispatch radio and telephone calls for service in accordance with established procedures and emergency protocols.
• Coordinate and communicate with internal security teams, operations personnel, and management during routine activities and emergency incidents.
• Request assistance from appropriate local, state, or federal law enforcement, fire, and emergency medical agencies when required.
• Monitor CCTV, alarm, fire, and life safety systems and initiate appropriate responses to alerts, incidents, or system anomalies.
• Maintain continuous situational awareness and monitor for suspicious, unsafe, or criminal activity.
• Accurately document incidents, activities, and communications through detailed logs, reports, and records.
• Compile, preserve, and distribute digital video and audio evidence in support of investigations, reports, and law enforcement requests.
• Enter, retrieve, and manage data within security and dispatch software systems.
• Provide clear, calm, and professional communication to guests, tenants, and employees during routine and high-stress situations.
• Support emergency management procedures, including evacuations, shelter-in-place, and coordinated response efforts.
• Assist with maintaining a safe, secure, and orderly environment throughout the facility.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support Security Operations.

 

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum 18 years of age.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in criminal justice, public safety, or emergency management preferred.
• Previous experience in law enforcement, public safety, emergency communications, or 911 dispatch is strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated experience handling emergency calls, prioritizing incidents, and dispatching resources in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with police, fire, EMS, and emergency response protocols.
• No record of conviction for crimes against persons or property.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to relay information clearly and accurately under pressure.
• Proven ability to multitask and maintain composure during high-stress or critical incidents.
• Ability to follow direction, policies, and established procedures.
• Proficient computer skills, including the ability to operate dispatch, reporting, and surveillance systems.
• Ability to work variable and rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Fire prevention experience and/or Simplex or similar fire alarm system certification preferred.
• Ability to successfully complete a four (4) week training program.
• Valid SORA license required.

• Stooping or squatting: Infrequently (approximately 10% of the time)
• Handling larger items such as boxes or packages: Infrequently (approximately 10% of the time)
