About this role

Job Summary:

The IT Asset and Vendor Management Office Manager is responsible for overseeing the lifecycle of IT assets and managing vendor management processes. This role ensures that all hardware and software assets are effectively tracked, maintained, and aligned with organizational goals. The manager will also lead vendor management planning, vendor negotiations, and contract management to support IT operations. This is a hybrid role; in office 4 days/week and remote for 1 day/week.

 

Job Duties:

Duties may include, but are not limited to the following:

Key Responsibilities

Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of IT all assets including acquisition, deployment, maintenance, and disposal.  All IT Assets are software, hardware, staff augmentation and software / hardware as a service.

• Develop and implement Vendor Management strategies for IT hardware, software, and services.

• Evaluate and select vendors, negotiate contracts, and manage vendor relationships.

• Process purchase orders and invoices, ensuring compliance with company policies.

• Maintain accurate records of asset inventory and vendor management documentation.

• Collaborate with finance, legal, and IT operations teams to align procurement with budget and compliance requirements.

• Ensure timely delivery and deployment of IT assets to end users.

• Monitor asset utilization and optimize inventory levels.

Data Analytics and Reporting

• Generate reports on asset usage, vendor management metrics, and cost savings.

• Analyze data to support decision-making in vendor management and asset management.

• Provide insights to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with cross-functional teams including Finance, Legal, Security, and IT Operations to ensure alignment of asset and vendor management strategies with organizational objectives.

 

Required Competencies & Knowledge:

Knowledge of: 

 

  • Working knowledge of IT best practices, including security protocols and policies
  • Familiarity with equipment and applications used in a manufacturing environment, including label printers, scanners, process control interfaces.

Ability to: 

  • Generate and meet appropriate program objectives, and the persistence necessary to ensure high levels of quality and effectiveness
  • Support and manage a high volume of tasks
  • Adapt to new situations and challenges, as circumstances demand
  • Stay abreast to technology: new and emerging developments in the field of PC”s, laptops, tablets, RF devices, scanning equipment, and other end user hardware.
  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Document effectively
  • Ensure collaborative relationships with industry, trade, other associations, regulatory agencies and Maker's Pride staff.
  • Work effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Lead ‘best in class’ behaviors with focus on safety, quality, and policy focus

 

Work Environment:

  • Work is primarily done in an office setting.
  • Minimal production environment exposure which includes noise, dust, moving machinery, fork lifts, and fluctuations in temperature.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Sitting at a work station for extended periods of time
  • Stand, walk, climb stairs on a frequent basis
  • Must be able to lift 20 pounds on an infrequent basis.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 4-6 years experience in IT Asset & Vendor Management or equivalent
  • 4 year degree
