Remote positions are open to applicants based anywhere in the continental U.S. Hybrid positions are open to applicants based in the Phoenix, Arizona area.

Position Summary:


This position is responsible for advising and actioning the enterprise-level learning and development strategy for Make-A-Wish (MAW) leaders, employees, and other target audiences. This individual will build and scale mission‑aligned leadership experiences, leveraging digital solutions, to develop the skills and mindset to lead at all levels.


This position will design and deliver programs and solutions that build culture, belonging, and community across the National Office and full enterprise, with a strong focus on inclusive learning experiences that align with organizational goals and annual cycle plans.


The individual will be a thought leader, partnering with cross‑functional teams and enterprise leaders on key learning initiatives (e.g., Change Management, Inclusive Leadership, Leadership Development, Strategic Planning). This role will influence the adoption of enterprise-wide learning strategies and succession-focused capabilities across diverse stakeholders, often without direct authority.


This position will be responsible for leading a learning solutions design expert and working collaboratively with the People (HR) and Strategy Teams, as well as colleagues across the enterprise, to assess, identify, and execute on organizational learning needs. The individual will be accountable for developing enterprise-level leadership competencies, advancing culture, and delivering scalable, innovative learning and development initiatives across the full enterprise.

Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Identify and assess future and current organizational learning needs by building partnerships, gathering input from key organizational stakeholders, and provide recommendations and creative solutions based upon findings.

  • Align Culture and Learning by integrating the principles of psychological safety and inclusion.

  • Provide coaching and mentoring to emerging leaders, in partnership with HR Business Partners.

  • Collaborate across the People/HR team to promote and build workplace optimization through various tools and programs (ex, LMS, change management, leadership development programs).

  • Research, effectively design, develop, and continuously refine customized training content in multiple modalities (e.g. blended, virtual instructor-led, e-learning, guides, and resource materials). 

  • Evaluate L & D requests from other groups/departments, determine approach and measures of success, etc.

  • Facilitate learning programs, courses, and workshops, across the National Office and Chapters.   

  • Evaluate existing learning solutions for efficiency, effectiveness, and/or for potential leverage and broader usage.

  • Identify and implement program improvements, tools, and technology to enhance processes for learning execution.

  • Assess and define parameters for delivering and measuring learning; continually review opportunities for improvement and establish metrics for success.

  • Evaluate and manage external vendors as needed.

  • Develop and deliver enterprise learning and innovation strategy that ties to the overall Strategic Plan.

  • Create training and development content using instructional design techniques and tools (e.g. Articulate 360, RISE, adult learning tools and strategies).

  • Understand and leverage digital and AI solutions.

  • Collaborate across HR/People and IT teams to ensure data integrity/reporting, and process documentation and system improvement such as MAW LMS.


Qualifications:



  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, education, business, or related field required.

  • 5+ years of experience in Learning & Development and/or Organizational Development and Instructional Design experience.

  • 2+ years in a leadership role.

  • Preferred certifications:  Enneagram, DISC, MBTI, Korn Ferry 360, EQI, SL, Prosci

  • A clear understanding of the employee life cycle and workforce trends.

  • Demonstrated superior communication skills (verbal, written and presentation).

  • Experienced in creating learning and development experiences that promote a culture of inclusion and belonging.

  • Demonstrated experience in providing training using a variety of training platforms/techniques (i.e. classroom, e-learning, webinars, gaming, etc.).

  • Knowledge of instructional design theory and Adult Learning Principles.

  • Familiarity with learning technology ranging from LMS to web-enabled learning solutions such as Articulate, WellSaid etc.

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Suite, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint required in addition to training.


 Working Environment:



  • Ability to thrive in a remote environment.

  • Some travel required, up to 10%.

  • May require work outside a traditional Monday – Friday work week, and outside normal business hours. This includes some weekends and evening weeknights.
