About this role

<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Major League Baseball is hiring a Network Operations Engineer who will be responsible for maintaining the network security environment. This position can be expected to cover 8 hours/5 days/week and will be paid hourly. The Network Operations Engineer will report directly to the Manager, Network Security Operations.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"><strong>Responsibilities</strong></span></p> <ul> <li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Network Security Operations is responsible for maintaining the network security environment.&nbsp;</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">The Network Security Operations Engineer will be timely in evaluating and attempting to resolve technical issues that arise on the network and escalate when appropriate.</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Monitor network health, responding appropriately to network alerts and events to diagnose and resolve network issues</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Troubleshoot, Escalate, and communicate issues surrounding Wired, Wireless, and Private 5G infrastructure</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Review configurations and network tools to continually improve network performance and reliability</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Configure and maintain SASE tools, following best practice with Zero Trust principles</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Configure and maintain firewalls: security policies, VPN, IPSec tunnels etc.</span></li> </ul> <p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"><strong>Qualifications &amp; Skills</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"><em>2-5 years professional experience in:</em></span></p> <ul> <li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">IP Networking (L3, L2)</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Network automation/Scripting (Python, Bash, Go or other scripting language)</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Experience with Private Cellular Networks preferred</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Protocols such as BGP, Spanning Tree, WiFi, PIM, IGMP, MLAG, IPSec, Multicast</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Public cloud networking, specifically GCP and OCI</span></li> <li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;
