What You’ll Do:
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Senior Director of Revenue Cycle provides strategic oversight and leadership across all areas of the revenue cycle — ensuring integrity, efficiency, and alignment with MaineGeneral’s financial and operational goals. You’ll bring both strategic vision and operational depth to optimize performance, strengthen processes, and lead a high-performing team committed to continuous improvement.
Revenue Cycle Leadership & Strategy
Direct all revenue cycle functions, including patient access, billing, charge capture, denials, and collections.
Drive strategies to improve cash flow and key metrics such as clean claim rate, days in AR, and net collection rate.
Deliver regular, data-driven reporting and analysis to senior leadership on trends, results, and opportunities for improvement.
Payor Relations & Compliance
Maintain deep expertise in payor contracts, reimbursement methodologies, and regulatory requirements.
Ensure compliance with all billing and reimbursement standards while optimizing reimbursement and resolving escalated payor issues.
Denials & Appeals Management
Lead a comprehensive denials program focused on reducing denial rates, recovering lost revenue, and identifying root causes.
Oversee timely, accurate appeals in partnership with clinical and coding teams, monitoring trends to drive proactive improvements.
Operational Excellence & Innovation
Champion data analytics and emerging technology to enhance accuracy, transparency, and efficiency across all revenue functions.
Oversee departmental budgets, internal controls, and audits to maintain fiscal accountability and operational integrity.
Team Leadership & Collaboration
Lead, mentor, and develop a talented team of revenue cycle professionals, fostering collaboration, accountability, and growth.
Partner with finance, clinical, and operational leaders to align goals, streamline processes, and strengthen enterprise-wide performance.
What You Bring:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Healthcare Management, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
Ten (10) years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare revenue cycle management, including billing, collections, and denials oversight.
Demonstrated success improving clean claim rate, days in AR, denial rate, and net collection rate.
Deep understanding of payor requirements, contracts, and reimbursement methodologies.
Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive operational transformation in complex healthcare environments.
Exceptional communication, analytical, and relationship-building skills.
Familiarity with Epic or comparable revenue cycle platforms preferred.
