Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

As Deputy Manager - Tractor Assembly, you will lead and drive the tractor assembly operations with a sharp focus on cost control and productivity enhancement. Your core responsibilities will include:

  • Implementing and monitoring cost reduction initiatives targeting scrap, consumables, and manpower optimization to ensure departmental budget adherence.
  • Conducting detailed analysis of defects and market complaints to develop and enforce robust countermeasures aimed at enhancing product quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Steering the assembly manufacturing team to achieve excellence across key performance areas including Productivity, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Safety, and Morale (PQCDSM).
  • Ensuring on-time delivery of tractors in alignment with production plans, while synchronising parts and components across different models for seamless production flow.
  • Collaborating cross-functionally with internal departments, external partners, and vendors to drive continuous improvements and implement corrective actions.
  • Facilitating new product introduction (NPI) by coordinating mass production set-up, ensuring smooth transition from development to full-scale manufacturing.
  • Organising and adhering to comprehensive training programs for workers and staff to uplift skills, productivity, and safety standards within the assembly line.
  • Managing daily manpower activities, swiftly resolving conflicts and disagreements to maintain a motivated and cohesive workforce.
  • Inspiring and mentoring team members by regularly reviewing individual and team performance, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Conducting gap analysis focused on production losses, quality issues, and equipment breakdowns, driving initiatives to eliminate inefficiencies.

Education Qualification

A successful candidate will hold a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology, with a preference for specialisations in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. The educational requirements are as follows:

  • Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering
  • Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering

This qualification ensures a fundamental understanding of engineering principles critical to leading manufacturing processes in a technically demanding environment. Additionally, a strong academic foundation supports your ability to engage with complex manufacturing systems, analyse technical data, and drive innovation in assembly line operations.

General Experience

The ideal candidate will bring between 3 to 7 years of professional experience within the manufacturing industry, particularly in assembly operations or production management. Your background should demonstrate:

  • Hands-on experience in managing manufacturing teams and operations, with a focus on productivity and quality improvement.
  • Proven track record in cost control and budget management within a production environment.
  • Experience analyzing manufacturing defects and implementing effective corrective actions to minimize product non-conformities.
  • Familiarity with coordinating cross-functional teams including supply chain, quality assurance, and vendor management.
  • Involvement in new product introduction (NPI) projects and scaling production to mass manufacturing.

This experience equips you with a deep understanding of manufacturing dynamics and equips you to lead assembly processes in a fast-paced and demanding industrial setting.
