| Responsibilities |
| RFQ Management & Feasibility Analysis • Participate in RFQ qualification meetings and review technical data (BOM, PL, drawings). • Conduct feasibility studies and provide first-cut feedback to BD. • Maintain proper RFQ documentation and records throughout the process. |
| Technical Analysis & BOM Preparation • Prepare detailed BOM with sub-level parts, raw material specifications, part sizes, and manufacturing processes (Engine parts machining, forming, heat treatment, NDT, surface treatment, assembly, Brazing, Welding, Honeycomb brazing & machining). • Identify tooling requirements and calculate tooling costs. • Map manufacturing processes and estimate process time for each work centre. • Knowledge on understanding the technical data & specifications (material & process) from different Aerospace OEM (Airbus, Boeing , GE Engine, Pratt & Whitney, Collins, Bombardier, Dassault, Embraer.. etc) . • Analyse customer RFQs to determine technical and commercial requirements and establish timelines for bid preparation and submission. • Collaborate with engineering teams to evaluate technical feasibility and provide recommendations for bid/no-bid decisions. |
| Cost Estimation & Supplier Coordination • Compile and send requests for material, hardware, special BOI, outsourcing, and tooling quotes to Procurement and SCM. • Guide sourcing teams on approved suppliers and follow up for timely quote collection. • Analyse received prices, perform cost breakdowns, and negotiate with suppliers when necessary. • Gather accurate data and cost parameters by liaising with engineering, procurement, and finance teams to ensure competitive pricing. • Conducting feasibility studies for new bids and providing Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) estimates using historical data and costing models. |
| Cross-Functional Collaboration • Work closely with BD, Industrialization, Production, Quality, and Stores teams for detailed feasibility and process requirements. • Share cost and process details to BD teams for quote preparation. • Provide inputs for IRR and financial documentation during RFQ phase. • Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and knowledge sharing. |
| Process Optimization & Customer Interaction • Optimize process, time, and tooling based on customer feedback. • Participate in technical discussions and clarifications with customers. • Complete CBS (Cost Breakdown Structure) as per customer templates and support final quote submission. |
| CAPEX & Resource Planning • Identify new CAPEX requirements (machines/equipment) based on project needs and existing facility capabilities. |
| Others : • Develop cohesive proposals that include technical content, pricing breakdowns, and commercial terms. • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify opportunities and risks. • Identify risks, and mitigation strategies within proposal content. • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities to work with cross-functional teams • Knowledge of contract terms and conditions with the ability to assess risks and opportunities |
| • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or equivalent. • 5 -10 years of experience in estimation and costing within aerospace (preferrable Aero Engine) • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, BOM preparation, and cost analysis. • Proficiency in MS Excel & Power plant , ERP system and estimation tools. • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications. • Excellent communication and coordination skills for cross-functional collaboration. • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines under pressure and negotiate with stakeholders. |
