Group Summary:

The Mechatronics, Mirrors and Lighting group specializes in automotive technologies that are driving the future of mobility. Job Responsibilities:

COMPENSATION: $28/Hourly

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To provide support to Production Teams and to ensure that safety, quality and productivity are the 3 main priorities.
  • Ensure that all production personnel in your area have and understand applicable procedures, equipment and check fixtures;
  • Ensure all operators are trained effectively on safety, manufacturing process and quality checking aspects of their job;
  • Drive workstation set-ups including the installation, testing and adjustment of tools and fixtures in presses and process machines according to set-up procedures;
  • Drive Kaizen events with support from MPS;
  • Ensure that all production/inventory reports and documents are completed and entered into the CMI in an accurate and timely fashion;
  • Monitor and record employee’s performance of procedures and other company policies to provide feedback for Operator development;
  • Work with Production Supervisors to co-ordinate worker activities in accordance with daily Production schedule and drive changes to the Production schedule as necessary;
  • Assist management to ensure that all departments are co-operative in ensuring accordance of plant safety rules;
  • Interact with QC to ensure that first off quality status of the parts is of acceptable nature;
  • Ensure that all quality standards and procedures are followed. Interact with QC as necessary to understand the acceptable level of parts quality;
  • Work with other Cell Leaders to resolve any quality problems that arise effectively and efficiently;
  • Work with production personnel to continually improve production processes, quality and efficiency;
  • Utilize CMI to follow weekly schedule, production reporting and monitoring to ensure all customer requests are met;
  • Responsible for efficiency, scrap and downtime reporting on a daily basis;
  • Responsible for recording/ approving Employees hours in Time & Attendance system;
  • Assist with the inspection and maintenance of all plant equipment and machines for defects and potential problems according to Preventive Maintenance Program;
  • Assist Tooling and Process Engineers to run trials and document processes and improvement opportunities;
  • Work with JHSC to conduct audits, identify safety issues and ensure legislative compliance;
  • Comply with and ensure all Associates adhere to all policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook;
  • Provide break relief for Production Associates;
  • Train new operators on aspects of the Production Associate position.
  • Ensure that Quality Alerts and JES / SOS documentation is updated and training is provided to the Associates

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Grade 12 diploma required;
  • Prior work experience/ knowledge in an automotive manufacturing environment would be an asset;
  • Valid Forklift License would be an asset;
