About the Role

We are looking for a Performance Testing Engineer with a strong foundation in performance engineering and a structured, analytical approach to problem solving. The ideal candidate is passionate about ensuring scalability, reliability, and responsiveness of large-scale systems and has hands-on experience in designing and executing performance, load, and stress tests. Exposure to automation, DevOps, and Site Reliability Engineering practices is a strong plus.

Key Responsibilities

Performance Testing and Engineering

  • Design, develop, and execute performance, load, stress, endurance, and scalability tests for applications and services.
  • Analyze performance test results to identify bottlenecks, capacity limits, and scalability issues.
  • Work closely with development and architecture teams to recommend performance optimizations at code, configuration, and infrastructure levels.
  • Establish performance benchmarks, SLAs, and acceptance criteria for systems.

Test Design and Automation

  • Develop reusable performance test scripts using industry standard tools and frameworks.
  • Integrate performance testing into CI/CD pipelines for continuous performance validation.
  • Ensure test data, environments, and monitoring setups accurately reflect production-like scenarios.

Collaboration and Design Thinking

  • Apply user and business workload modeling to design realistic performance test scenarios.
  • Collaborate with product, engineering, and DevOps teams to align performance goals with business needs.
  • Participate in design and architecture reviews to proactively identify performance risks.

DevOps and Reliability (Plus)

  • Support capacity planning and production readiness activities.
  • Contribute to monitoring, observability, and performance tuning in lower and higher environments.
  • Assist in incident analysis related to performance and scalability issues.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong experience in performance testing tools and frameworks such as K6, JMeter, Gatling, LoadRunner, or similar.
  • Proficiency in one or more programming or scripting languages such as Java, Python, or Groovy.
  • Solid understanding of performance engineering concepts including throughput, latency, concurrency, and resource utilization.
  • Experience testing microservices architectures and RESTful APIs.
  • Familiarity with version control systems like Git and agile development practices.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Knowledge of containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Exposure to observability and monitoring tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, AppDynamics, Dynatrace, or New Relic.
  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation.

  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with a performance-first mindset.
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and influence performance best practices.
  • Passion for continuous learning, system optimization, and engineering excellence.
