The project: With continued growth in infrastructure, we have a demand for experienced professionals in aviation in our Mobility Business Sector. With sustained airline passenger growth in UK and the recent government approvals, we have been appointed for one of the UK’s largest airports in the South East of England to deliver their high-profile airport expansion plans.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Strategic Delivery Planning Lead (Operations Director) to join our team on a permanent basis. As Strategic Delivery Planning Lead you will be required to manage teams of senior direct reports, demonstrating effective leadership to ensure excellence in delivery against plans, championing a continuous improvement culture throughout all activities.
You’ll need to have:
- Proven leadership in strategic delivery planning for early stages of major programmes.
- Strong understanding of strategic delivery planning to support DCO and programme delivery.
- Extensive experience planning major programmes in operational environments; aviation sector highly desirable.
- Expert in schedule management tools and establishing effective planning systems and controls.
- Proven planning leadership on mega infrastructure and complex construction programmes.
- Strong analytical capability, managing uncertainty, budgets and integrated project controls.
- Commercially astute leader with experience managing senior stakeholders and large, diverse teams.
- Membership of APM, RICS, CIOB, ICE, AACE, IRM, IEMA or equivalent demonstrable professional or personal development.
- Degree or equivalent with professional work experience in one or more specific disciplines in the construction, programme, project or commercial management discipline.
