This senior role will handle construction delivery for a major Hertfordshire residential scheme while serving as the business unit’s construction specialist. It combines hands on site leadership with strategic guidance across the development portfolio, ensuring robust buildability, programme, quality, procurement and building safety Act compliance from early feasibility through to project handover.

Please note: This full-time role will be split based on-site in Hertfordshire (Stevenage area) with regular attendance at the client’s head office in the city of London. Roughly, 2 to 3 days a week on site, 1 - 2 days a week in office with potential for some flexible work-from-home by agreement with the Business Unit Director/Development Director.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Managing delivery of the Hertfordshire residential scheme.
  • Managing programme, quality, safety and commissioning.
  • Driving zero harm culture and SHEQ compliance.
  • Overseeing planning, utilities and statutory approvals.
  • Managing stakeholder, JV and local authority engagement.
  • Ensuring ESG, social value and carbon commitments.
  • Managing handover, aftercare and defect resolution.
  • Supporting commercial control, change and reporting.
  • Providing construction expertise across the portfolio.
  • Managing assurance, buildability reviews and departmental standards.

You’ll need to have:

  • Client side construction leader with large scale residential delivery experience.
  • Strong contract, programme, safety and regulatory knowledge, including JCT/NEC and BSA compliance.
  • Qualified construction professional with relevant certifications (CSCS, SMSTS desirable).
  • Skilled in stakeholder management, digital tools, and complex urban site coordination.
