As a Junior Technician at M.C. Dean, you will enter a fast-paced environment designed to bridge the gap between entry-level technical knowledge and high-level systems integration. You will work directly under the mentorship of Senior Technicians and Leads to master the installation, assembly, and commissioning of complex security and electronic systems.
This is a hands-on learning role focused on technical precision, infrastructure standards, and the physical build-out of security command centers and telecommunications rooms.
Head End Construction: Learn to build and populate equipment racks from the ground up. This includes mounting hardware, installing servers, and organizing power distribution units (PDUs).
iStar Panel Integration: Master the wiring and termination of Software House iStar door controllers. You will learn to map inputs/outputs for card readers, door strikes, and request-to-exit (REX) devices.
Cable Management: Develop proficiency in professional cable dressing and labeling. You will learn to use hook-and-loop fasteners and cable management bars to ensure "clean" rack builds that meet M.C. Dean’s rigorous quality standards.
Technical Termination: Gain expertise in terminating various media, including:
Copper (Cat6/6A)
Fiber Optics (LC/SC connectors)
Low-voltage power wiring
Coaxial and RS-485 communication lines
Blueprints & Schematics: Learn to read and interpret floor plans, riser diagrams, and point-to-point wiring schematics.
Testing & Troubleshooting: Assist senior staff in using Fluke testers and multimeters to verify connectivity and troubleshoot circuit issues.
