As a Mechanical Engineer in Lyten Poland Energy Storage Systems (BESS) team, you will be responsible for the mechanical development of cutting-edge battery solutions for grid-scale and commercial energy storage. This includes designing and optimizing battery modules, packs, racks, frames, and enclosures to ensure safety, reliability, and manufacturability.

You will work closely with cross-functional team located in Poland and Sweden, suppliers, and customers to deliver innovative, high-performance energy storage systems that enable the next generation of renewable energy integration and power management solutions.


Key Responsibilities

  • Take responsibility for the mechanical development of Li-ion battery systems, including modules, packs, racks, frames, and enclosures.

  • Interact with customers to understand product use cases and technical requirements throughout the entire project lifecycle.

  • Brainstorm and develop early product concepts in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

  • Perform mechanical design considering loads, vibrations, and structural integrity.

  • Design protective enclosures to ensure resistance to environmental impacts and pollution.

  • Apply DFM and cost optimization principles.

  • Participate and actively contribute to Design FMEA sessions.

  • Engage in regular technical discussions with internal teams and external suppliers.

  • Create detailed technical drawings for customers and manufacturing.

  • Participate in prototyping activities for newly designed and developed components.

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Minimum 5 years of mechanical design experience, with exposure to cell integration, structural integration, power electronics, or high-performance Li-ion battery systems.

  • Experience with various mechanical joining methods.

  • Strong hands-on experience with CAD tools.

  • Excellent analytical skills, particularly in design for safety, manufacturability, and serviceability.

  • Experience working with international teams and customers.

  • Excellent written and spoken English.

  • Experience in a start-up or fast-growing environment is a plus.

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
